START WHERE YOU ARE

We are what we practice, right? We achieve goals that we dedicate our time to, and we have to start somewhere. My story is no different. I arrived where I am today by putting in the time...and I wasn't the kid who ran home from school excited to start practicing! But I was a kid who recognized that music made everything brighter, and now I love to share that light. I like to give students a portal to finding their voice - maybe open a window to let in some creative oxygen. Lessons with me are tailored to meet you (or your child) where you are with these goals in mind:

  • Cultivate your creative side

  • Learn that it's normal to be bad at something (before you get good at it)

  • Find your voice: literally or figuratively

  • Equip yourself with the skills to accomplish your music goals, whether they're technical, improvisational, or both

TESTIMONIALS

For the past year, I have been studying voice with Kate and I recently started piano lessons with her -- all online. It's been easy and so convenient. Kate is warm, easy to work with, and very supportive. As an instructor, she challenges me in positive ways to continually improve my skills, she is an excellent communicator, and lots of fun to work with! She has helped me strengthen my voice and my confidence.

Im a songwriter/singer that came to Kate to get help with learning to control my vocals and get better techniques for live performances. She has also help me with other aspects of music and musical arrangements of other songs. Her calming nature makes the learning environment very enjoyable and I always look forward to future sessions!

I’m so grateful for having Kate as my vocal coach. She has not only taught me how to sing well, she has taught me how to believe in my singing voice.
